Announcing the change, Victor Hadida, President of FIAD, expressed his confidence in the appointment: “I am very pleased to continue working with Alina in her new role as Secretary General. Her expertise in EU affairs and good knowledge of the audiovisual industry will be an asset for FIAD.”
I would also like to particularly thank our outgoing Secretary General, Nikolas Moschakis, for his work and dedication all those years and wish him all the best in his new endeavours.”
Upon this announcement, Alina said: “I am delighted to take up my new role as Secretary General for FIAD at such crucial time for the audiovisual sector, which is being presented with both opportunities and challenges with the rise of digital technology. This is an exciting time to continue working with FIAD's members, the other industry stakeholders and the European institutions towards a diverse and sustainable audiovisual sector benefiting consumers across Europe. Effective distribution is vital to Europe’s diverse film culture and film industry in a digital era of abundant media supply.”
The International Federation of Film Distributors’ Associations (FIAD) represents national associations of film distribution companies, from small and medium-sized ones, specialized in art house films, to larger companies focused on blockbusters. FIAD members operate in 14 countries where they cover 90 to 100 percent of the theatrical market.
