Robert Heslop joins FIAD as Policy Advisor

FIAD is glad to announce that Robert Heslop has joined as the new policy advisor.

Robert is from the UK where he gained an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in European Studies and German from King's College London. In 2017, he moved to Brussels and undertook a traineeship at the European Commission in the Cabinet of Commissioner Navracsics. After the traineeship, he moved to DG EAC as a briefings officer where he wrote speeches for Commissioner Navracsics and the Commission's hierarchy. In particularl, Robert worked closely with the Commissioner and his Cabinet in the preparation, delivery and follow up of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.

In this context, Robert brings to FIAD a strong understanding of the EU political structures and the EU's approach to cultural policies.

Since moving to Brussels, Robert has tried to reinvigorate his rusty GCSE level French by taking French classes and he can often be found planning which new European city to explore!
