The Romanian Audio Visual Distributors Association (ODOA) joins FIAD

On 4 November, Members of the International Film Distributors’ and Publishers’ Associations (FIAD) voted to admit The Romanian Audio Visual Distributors Association as a full FIAD Member.

Victor Hadida, President of FIAD, said in a statement:

"I am happy to see FIAD grow by welcoming ODOA. Romania has a long and proud history of cinema, with Romanian films winning top awards at numerous European festivals including Berlin (golden bears), Cannes (Palmes d’or) and Venice (Lion of the future and Orizonti award) and playing in theatres. ODOA's Members are essential elements of the Romanian film ecosystem, distributing theatrically and bringing diverse films to Romanian audiences and contributing to a growing and vibrant cinema sector."

The Board Members of FIAD said in a statement:

“We are delighted to welcome the Romanian Audio Visual Distributors Association to FIAD. The Romanian film sector is culturally diverse and economically competitive, with distributors at the very heart of the eco-system. ODOA is the 2nd Association that has joined FIAD since Robert Heslop has taken on the Position of Secretary General in 2021. As Board Members we are proud that FIAD continues to grow in strength and representatives, evidence of a dynamic and influential association.”

Oana Stoenescu, President of ODOA, said in a statement:

“I am thrilled that ODOA has become a Member of FIAD. It is important that national associations of film distributors work together to defend our common interests and promote our priorities at the European level. With important decisions to be taken by the European Union I am confident that ODOA will be robustly represented by FIAD”

With the Romanian Audio Visual Distributors Association now a member, FIAD represents associations in 15 countries across Europe and one single company in 1 territory:
